Quilt Triplets

I decided my two girlfriends
needed a camping quilt like mine!
So we could be triplets.
Mine is here.
It took me a year, but they are done.
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!
Lynnelle, Stacey and I
Lynnelle is a mom to 8 and
is a "mom" to so many others too.
She drives a 15 passenger van.
I had to stalk her van, take a picture of it
and recreate it.
One down one to go.
Stacey, (a mom of 7) zips around town
in a VW convertible bug.
Again there were no patterns for her car either.
I looked.
I'd probably tweak the car
if I ever did it again,
but I'm not doing it again. :)
Added a little pom pom curtain,
and they have yummy
Riley Blake flannel on the backs.

The quilt pattern is
 Vintage Camping by Lori Holt.
Very fun to make and give.
Happy Camping or
TV watching!

Scalloped Christmas Surprise

Probably around 2008, my oldest daughter,
who was barely in high school
wanted to make a quilt
out of these pretty pretty fabrics.

 She pieced together the top.
Pattern is from Livin' Large
by Anka's Treasures.
And it has sat for 9 years,
good grief.
She talked about finishing it;
I talked about finishing it.
No one finished it.
I had a few goals for this past fall and
this was one of them.

I added borders to the top and bottom,
pieced the flannel back,
had it machine quilted
and then I
 scalloped and bound it.

Scalloping with the
by Darlene Zimmerman
was well,
It's done,
and I absolutely adore it.
Scallops are going to be
my new best friend.

Needless to say,
she was VERY surprised and happy
Christmas morning.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears Softies

"Someone's Been Sleeping
 in My Bed
and she's still there!"
Once Upon a Time,
Des and I got together to make
Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
"That chair is not big enough for
the both of us."
We combined two of Wee Wonderfuls patterns to
create a sweet keepsake,
for our grandkids.
(Actually mine is more for me
because I ADORE the Goldilocks fabric.
Get it while you can!)
We made the "The Sleepover Pals"
sleeping bag pattern
and "Little Miss Storybook" doll pattern
(shrunk the doll pattern by half).
And Des made this adorable bear pattern.
She makes them for gifts and
for the Humanitarian Center.
Great way to use up your minkee scraps.
They are soooo soft.
The Sleeping Bag wraps up
to hold them.
Check out her corduroy boots.

I put the Three Bears on her apron.
Or perhaps they look like Mickey Mouse,
I'm good either way. :)

My Goldi looked a little stern,
so I added a smile and
the puffed sleeves.
And she lived
Happily Ever After.

Welcome Home Little Jedi

Not too long after my daughter's
Star Wars baby shower,

our new little jedi appeared.

Welcome little one!

Since my daughter made a
themed quilt, I went more modern.

 Used my Accuquilt triangle die,
some cotton and steel fabric
and the Black Moda Cross Weave.

 And there are always scraps...

We are thrilled he's here!

Dad's pretty happy too!

I've come to terms that
I'm a grandma.
How'd that happen?
