Meet My Small Friends

I needed a great excuse to drop
everything and make these!

So when Carol of Just Let Me Quilt
mentioned a "small" blog hop - I was in!

And these animal friends are definitely small.
This sweet little pattern is from Gingermelon.

This is Kitty made
with Essex linen.

She looks a little concerned that I
used my coveted Wizard of Oz on her.

But only the best for Kitty Kat.

First time using safety eyes.
Did a little test first.

By putting a piece of batting between the eye and the linen,
I think the metal back isn't as noticeable on the front.

Below - eye with batting is on the right;
you can see a faint indentation around the left eye.

Here are my favorite tools to use.
Love my stuffing fork
They cut felt and fabric 'perfectly'.

Meet Bun Bun with her
stuffed little nose and rosy cheeks.

Red Riding Hood, we see you.

I don't use my hoarded linen enough,
so I decided to cut into it again and make
a little monkey tote for our legos.
Legos are small. :)

Our Star Wars friends
needed their own space.

Thanks Carol for the perfect excuse to
slow down and make a fun project.

Today is my day on the hop, please be sure
to visit these bloggers and see their tiny treasures!

Quilt Triplets

I decided my two girlfriends
needed a camping quilt like mine!
So we could be triplets.
Mine is here.
It took me a year, but they are done.
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!
Lynnelle, Stacey and I
Lynnelle is a mom to 8 and
is a "mom" to so many others too.
She drives a 15 passenger van.
I had to stalk her van, take a picture of it
and recreate it.
One down one to go.
Stacey, (a mom of 7) zips around town
in a VW convertible bug.
Again there were no patterns for her car either.
I looked.
I'd probably tweak the car
if I ever did it again,
but I'm not doing it again. :)
Added a little pom pom curtain,
and they have yummy
Riley Blake flannel on the backs.

The quilt pattern is
 Vintage Camping by Lori Holt.
Very fun to make and give.
Happy Camping or
TV watching!

Scalloped Christmas Surprise

Probably around 2008, my oldest daughter,
who was barely in high school
wanted to make a quilt
out of these pretty pretty fabrics.

 She pieced together the top.
Pattern is from Livin' Large
by Anka's Treasures.
And it has sat for 9 years,
good grief.
She talked about finishing it;
I talked about finishing it.
No one finished it.
I had a few goals for this past fall and
this was one of them.

I added borders to the top and bottom,
pieced the flannel back,
had it machine quilted
and then I
 scalloped and bound it.

Scalloping with the
by Darlene Zimmerman
was well,
It's done,
and I absolutely adore it.
Scallops are going to be
my new best friend.

Needless to say,
she was VERY surprised and happy
Christmas morning.
